Generator sets are vital as backup power in a variety of applications such as construction sites, outdoor events, mall centers and residential buildings. To ensure the safety, quality and compliance of generator sets meet international standards.
JIANGSU LONGEN POWER, in collaboration with SGS, will conduct CE testing on the generator set to ensure compliance with European Union (EU) regulations and directives
1.Test sample
The sample generator set for this CE test is LG-550
Prime Power: 400KW/500KVA
Standby Power: 440KW/550KVA
Frequency: 50Hz
Voltage: 415V
Engine Brand: Cummins
Alternator Brand: Stamford
2.EMC Testing
Generator sets are electromechanical equipment that can produce electromagnetic interference. EMC testing evaluates the ability of a generator set to operate without causing or being affected by electromagnetic interference.
2.1 Emission Test:
Conducted and radiated emission testing according to standards such as EN 55012:2007+A1:2009 is an important aspect of CE testing of generator sets.
Test Method: CISPR 12:2007+A1 2009
Frequency Range: 30MHz TO 1GHz
Measurement Distance: 3m
Operating Environment:
Temperature:22 ℃
Humidity:50% RH
Atmospheric Pressure:1020 mbar
Measurement Data:
An initial pre-scan was performed in the chamber using the spectrum analyser in peak detection mode.Quasi-peak measurements were conducted based on the peak sweep graph. The EUT was measured by BiConiLog antenna with 2 orthogonal polarities.
2.2 Immunity Test
In addition, immunity testing ensures that the generator set can withstand external electromagnetic phenomena without performance degradation.Testing according to EN 61000-6-2:2019 standards
Frequency Range: 80MHz to 1GHz, 1.4GHz to 6GHz
Antenna Polarisation:Vertical and Horizontal
Modulation: 1kHz,80% Amp. Mod,1% increment
Results: No degradation in performance of the EUT was observed.
2.3 Electrostatic Discharge Test
Discharge Impedance: 330Ω/150pF
Number of Discharge: Minimum 10 times at each test point
Discharge Mode: Single Discharge
Discharge Period:1 second minimum
Results:
No degradation in performance of the EUT was observed.
3.MD Directive Test
Electrical safety testing: One of the main contents of CE testing of generator sets is electrical safety. This involves evaluating the design and construction of the generator set to ensure protection against electrical hazards. The testing process includes insulation resistance testing and other functional tests of the generator set. Compliance with standards such as EN ISO8528-13 and EN ISO12100 is critical to meeting electrical safety require ments.
